Time to Get Organized!

July is almost over. Hello August!  This week we are working on getting back to our regular work/school schedules. Waking up early, eating at certain times, and bed time routines. We mostly abandoned our routines this summer so we could take a break from it all and just enjoy. I am so excited to start back on our normal routines though. I love when everything is organized and together.
One of my goals for this week is to create a space for Nikolai to do his homework each night. I can't wait to get it done for him. I've seen a lot of great homework station ideas on Pinterest, like these:
For the past month I've been going through clothes and toys to sell and donate. Another goal of mine is to get all the clothes and toys out of our way and taken to the places they need to go. I can't believe Nikolai has outgrown all but two pairs of his pants that we bought just last fall! Most of his pants are still in great condition and I hope I get them to the consignment store thi…

This Is My Life

Mesothelioma Awareness

A couple of weeks ago a woman named Heather asked me to share her story. It's the first time I've been asked to share something like this and was happy to do so. A few months ago, my children's great grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer. No one in my family had ever battled cancer before. I can't imagine myself or my children getting cancer and having to deal with the emotional, spiritual, and physical stress that comes along with it. I can't imagine my life without my kids nor can I imagine my life ending before I have the chance to see my children grow up.

Heather Von St. James experienced and survived mesothelioma and she wants others to be aware of this cancer. All I have to say is that Heather is truly a strong woman to go through what she h…

July Week 3

This week went by way too fast. I can't believe we're half way through July!

Sunday: Alexandria turned 8 months old!!! Alexandria is so attached to me and not used to staying with anyone, I've tried leaving her twice since May and she screams until I come and get her. Guess that's what happens when we go a long time without needing a babysitter. Alexandria is also crawling so well and pulling up several times a day. It's like she turned 8 months and boom! Crawling, standing, almost talking, and getting teeth! Me Logan and Nikolai played the card game Old Maid while the girls napped and we saw a beautiful double rainbow too.

 My bright eyed child
Monday: Me and Logan joined Team National. I'm still skeptical, but the potential savings on furniture is looking good! Already found a California king size bed and bedroom suite that we want, now if only we can find a place to put it.

Tuesday: We went to speech therapy and to the library. I had a bad (emotional)…
